50 Words

CJ Tuttle is a Rochester, NY songwriter who spent 25 years writing songs he never had the courage to chase. In 2026, he built his own roster of AI-powered artists — CodiKrome, Krome Theory, Riffy Waters, Bubba Moh, and Kairo Miles — to finally bring his catalog to life.

150 Words

CJ Tuttle is a Rochester, NY-based songwriter whose catalog spent two decades sitting in notebooks before he found a way to release it on his own terms. After winning recognition in both the Billboard Songwriting Contest and the Great American Songwriting Contest, CJ built a roster of five AI-powered artists — each one a different facet of his own writing — to bring his songs to life across country, blues, soul, rock, and pop. CodiKrome, Krome Theory, Riffy Waters, Bubba Moh, and Kairo Miles aren't replacements for human artists. They're a demonstration of what's possible when a songwriter finally stops waiting on permission. CJ's released catalog includes "Halfway There," "Someday Just Ain't My Time," "Under Them Covers," and "Might Be Ready To Believe," with "Heavy Questions" arriving May 29, 2026. Each song is accompanied by an AI-generated music video, several featuring CJ himself walking through the process.

300 Words

CJ Tuttle has been writing songs for 25 years. Most of them never left a notebook. A North Syracuse native and Rochester-based father of three, CJ spent his life filling pages with lyrics he hoped the biggest names in music would one day sing. He picked up real recognition along the way — his work has been honored in both the Billboard Songwriting Contest and the Great American Songwriting Contest — but the calls he hoped for never came, mostly because he never found the courage to make them. Fear, then responsibility, kept the songs in the notebook. In 2026, that changed. Using AI vocal generation, CJ built a roster of five distinct artists to record his back catalog and his new work: CodiKrome (the Country Slopstar), Krome Theory (heavy rock with hard truths), Riffy Waters (pop hooks with reggae underneath), Bubba Moh (soul-blues with a rock edge and something to say), and Kairo Miles (modern soul with vintage bones). Several songs are accompanied by full AI-generated music videos — some featuring CJ himself on green screen, walking viewers through his own process so the work isn't a black box. Critically, the lyrics are still his — written by hand, by him, every day. The AI builds voices and visuals; it doesn't write the songs. The project is deliberately not a replacement for human artists. It's a demonstration — what one writer can sound like when he finally hears his own work the way he heard it on the page. The released catalog now includes "Halfway There," "Someday Just Ain't My Time," "Under Them Covers," and "Might Be Ready To Believe," with the next single "Heavy Questions" — featuring Bubba Moh on lead — dropping May 29, 2026. CJ remains, above all, a songwriter looking for the right voices to sing his catalog.

Story angles.

Pre-vetted hooks for different outlets. Pick what fits your readership.

01

The fear angle

CJ wrote songs for 25 years and never had the courage to chase the artists he hoped would record them. AI didn't write the songs — it gave him the nerve to finally release them.

For: songwriter pubs, podcasts, human-interest
02

The 5-artist roster

Most "AI music" stories are about a single voice. CJ built five distinct artists, each with their own genre, persona, and visual identity.

For: music tech, AI industry
03

He shows his work

CJ records process videos on green screen, walking viewers through how each song was built. Not AI-as-magic-trick — AI-as-transparent-tool, with the human visible in the work.

For: tech features, AI-creativity podcasts
04

One writer, every genre

Country, blues, rock, soul, pop — one songwriter via AI. "Halfway There" exists in four versions on Spotify, same lyric, four entirely different songs.

For: creativity / AI features
05

The songs are for sale

CJ streams the catalog publicly and explicitly positions it as a portfolio for licensing to real artists. AI as audition tape, not as competition.

For: music business pubs

Pull quotes.

Pre-written quotes from CJ — ready to drop into any article.

I still write every single day. I don't use AI to write a single lyric. The most help I get from any tool is a rhyming dictionary. The AI didn't change what I do — it changed who gets to hear it.
— CJ Tuttle · LEAD QUOTE
I let fear swallow my dreams for 25 years. I never went after the artists I wanted to sing my songs because I never thought I could. Then AI brought music back into my life — and the songs that had been sitting in notebooks finally got to leave them.
— CJ Tuttle
I'm not trying to replace anyone. If even one of my songs touches one person, then I owe it to that person to put it out there. That's the whole point.
— CJ Tuttle
My voice was made to be a songwriter's. AI lets me explore every way my own words can be interpreted. That's amazing to me.
— CJ Tuttle
Showing my face in the videos isn't a stunt. I want people to see this isn't a button I pushed. These are my songs. The voices are imagined, the lyrics are mine, and the process is mine to walk through if anyone wants to see how it works.
— CJ Tuttle
I started with one voice. CodiKrome. Now there are five. I don't think I'm done.
— CJ Tuttle

The process.

CJ produces full AI-generated music videos for the songs in the catalog. Several feature him on green screen, walking viewers through how each track was built — from lyric, to voice, to final cut. The videos are designed to make the project transparent rather than anonymous.

— What's available —
8 music videos, growing

Including multiple artist versions of "Halfway There," "Someday Just Ain't My Time," "Under Them Covers," "Might Be Ready To Believe," and a preview of "Heavy Questions."

— Why it matters —
Transparency, not magic

The process videos are a deliberate move against the "AI slop" criticism — CJ shows his face, his desk, and his workflow so the project reads as a documented practice, not a one-click novelty.
